Upgrading Google Classroom Meet Links: October 2021
Google recently updated Meet to permit ONLY teachers and co-teachers to be “hosts” of Meet links. This change requires teachers to update prior Meet links posted in Google Classroom. The following steps will guide teachers to update old links and allow for the new security measures.

If prompted with an “Outdated link” message (see below), click the three-dots menu and choose Manage.

Click Upgrade link (see below).

Check the box to Upgrade all my outdated links, then click the Upgrade links button.

Meet links will now be located in a separate box for teachers AND students, under the classroom header (see below).
