Import SMARTNotebook files into Viewsonic Whiteboard software
print icon

We know that there have been many changes in the last few years in regard to technology and a big one has been the "phase out" of the SMARTBoard in favor of the Viewsonic IFP.  Many staff still have some of their saved SmartNotebook files that they pre-programmed with lessons they still use.  While you can still download and install the SMARTNotebook software it is not 100% useable with the Viewsonic IFP.  Viewsonic does have their own virtual Whiteboard software that can be downloaded and installed on our Windows desktop computers.  Once installed this software can open SMARTNotebook files and be manipulated as well.  See the instructions below.

  1. Go to https://myviewboard.com/download/,  download, and install the Windows software.
  2. An icon will appear on the Desktop called  Whiteboard (the icon looks like a yellow cloud)
  3. Double-click on the icon to open the application
  4. Once you open the application you will see, along the bottom, a Tool Bar like the one below
  5. Clicking on the "Magic Box" tool will open a new tool window like the one below
  6. From the drop-down on the right, you can choose .notebook file format to import any files created in SMARTNotebook into the Whiteboard software.
